HOW DOES IT WORK?

Maybe you overhear someone bragging about having committed a crime. Maybe you know someone who is driving a stolen car......or is hiding from the Police......or has killed, raped or beaten up someone......or is a robber, burglar or drug dealer.

Or maybe you just see something that doesn't look right. A strange car. A person acting sneaky. A person with a gun or knife or other lethal weapon. People taking things out of a house, garage, business, car trunk, etc.

If you do, call Hopkins County Crime Stoppers at 270-825-1111. If you aren't sure that what you saw or heard is really a crime, call anyway. Let the Police decide if it's worth investigating. It may be a piece of a clue to a big crime.

Or, you can send an anonymous email that you may call about later.

When you call, don't give your name. We won't ask for it. We don't want it. No one will know your name, not even us. We will give you a secret number that is yours alone.

Hopkins County Crime Stoppers offers Cash for Clues that could pay up to $1,000.00!

In some instances, citizens do not contact police with information out of fear that if they reveal their identity they will expose themselves or their families to acts of retaliation by the criminal. In most instances these citizens will not come forward with information unless they can be assured that they will be provided with complete anonymity by the police. Hopkins County Crime Stoppers guarantees absolute privacy and confidentiality.

Informants can call information to the Hopkins County Crime Stoppers program about any felony crime or suspicious activity which has occurred anywhere in our area, or for that fact, anywhere in the world. We will take that information and relay it by telephone, fax, mail, and now e-mail. The caller to Crime Stoppers will receive a caller code number which will allow us to track the tip in our files. The caller code number also allows the caller to contact Crime Stoppers at a later date, and we can let them know if a case has been solved, and if a reward is waiting for them.

Improper/Illegal Use of this Public Services: This tip submission system is provided to the public for the purpose of anonymously reporting known or suspected suspicious or criminal activity which has occurred, or may occur. You acknowledge and confirm that the information you are providing is not urgent or requiring prompt or immediate attention, and you understand that you should call 911 or contact the appropriate authorities by phone if this is time sensitive information.
